What does the S1 suffix indicate on the GHB3050S1 catalog number?

The S1 suffix designates a factory-installed 120 VAC shunt trip. This accessory allows the breaker to be tripped remotely by applying a 120V signal to the shunt trip coil, which is commonly used for emergency stop buttons or fire alarm integration.

Which panelboards are compatible with this G-frame breaker?

This bolt-on breaker is designed specifically for Eaton Pow-R-Line C panelboards, Series C panelboards, and legacy Westinghouse PRL2 panelboards.

Can I use this Eaton breaker to replace an older Westinghouse GHB3050S1?

Yes. Eaton acquired the Westinghouse distribution equipment division and continues to manufacture these Series C breakers to the original specifications. An Eaton GHB3050S1 is a direct replacement for a Westinghouse or Cutler-Hammer breaker with the exact same catalog number.

Is this breaker suitable for a 480V ungrounded delta system?

No. The 480Y/277 Vac specification is a slash voltage rating. This means the breaker is only suitable for solidly grounded wye systems where the line-to-ground voltage does not exceed 277V. It must not be installed on 480V ungrounded or corner-grounded delta systems.

What wire sizes and materials do the factory terminals accept?

The included pressure line and load terminals accept wire sizes from 10 AWG up to 1/0 AWG. The lugs are dual-rated, meaning they can safely terminate either copper or aluminum conductors.

    Used model

    Breaker ohm tested out fine and currently working on load test with a longer term battery charger. So far so good. Packaged very well no visible damages during shipping. Even received a follow up call from customer that I missed.

    Good Product, but Disappointed With the Service

    Good product, but I was disappointed with the service. I accidentally placed two separate orders and ended up paying freight on both. I had requested that they combine the orders, and had that been done with the freight waived, it would have saved me money.

    Other than that, everything was good. I’m just disappointed that no one communicated this to me.
