The BRH290 is designed for use in Eaton Type BR load centers. It is also backward compatible with legacy Cutler-Hammer, Bryant, and Westinghouse load centers that accept Type BR plug-on breakers.
What is the difference between the Eaton BR290 and the BRH290?
The primary difference is the short-circuit interrupting rating. The standard BR290 is rated at 10kAIC, while the BRH290 features a higher interrupting rating of 22kAIC. The BRH290 can directly replace a BR290 in applications requiring a higher fault current rating.
What type of wire material is approved for the BRH290?
The box lugs on this breaker are dual-rated for both copper (Cu) and aluminum (Al) conductors.
Can the Eaton BRH290 replace older Bryant or Westinghouse breakers?
Yes. Because Eaton acquired Cutler-Hammer, Bryant, and Westinghouse, the Eaton BRH290 is the direct, manufacturer-approved replacement for legacy Bryant BRH290 and Westinghouse BRH290 circuit breakers.
Does the BRH290 provide AFCI or GFCI protection?
No, the BRH290 is a standard thermal-magnetic breaker. It provides overload and short-circuit protection but does not include arc fault or ground fault circuitry.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
