The GHB3050 is designed for use in Eaton Pow-R-Line 2 (PRL2, PRL2a) and Pow-R-Line 3a panelboards, as well as Eaton Series C enclosures and switchboards. It typically mounts horizontally and bolts directly to the panel bus.
Is the Eaton GHB3050 the exact same breaker as older Cutler-Hammer or Westinghouse GHB3050 models?
Yes. Eaton acquired both the Cutler-Hammer and Westinghouse distribution equipment lines. The current Eaton GHB3050 is a direct, drop-in replacement for older Cutler-Hammer and Westinghouse breakers bearing the exact same catalog number.
Can I use the GHB3050 on an ungrounded 480V Delta system?
No. The GHB3050 carries a 480Y/277V slash rating. This indicates it is only approved for use on solidly grounded Wye systems where the voltage to ground does not exceed 277 volts. It must not be applied on ungrounded or corner-grounded 480V Delta networks.
Is the GHB3050 approved for reverse feed applications?
Yes. Eaton G-frame circuit breakers, including the GHB3050, are non-interchangeable trip breakers that are fully approved and suitable for reverse feed use.
Can I install internal accessories like a shunt trip or auxiliary switch into the GHB3050 in the field?
Underwriters Laboratories (UL) standards require internal accessories for GHB breakers to be factory-installed in order to maintain the breaker's UL 489 listing. The breaker is factory sealed, so field installation of internal accessories will void this certification.
Can the trip settings on the GHB3050 be adjusted in the field?
No. The GHB3050 features a non-interchangeable thermal-magnetic trip unit with fixed thermal and fixed magnetic settings. The long-time overload protection is permanently set to 50 amps, and the instantaneous short-circuit trip point is set at a predetermined factory level that cannot be modified.

Expedited Shipments

Good product, but I was disappointed with the service. I accidentally placed two separate orders and ended up paying freight on both. I had requested that they combine the orders, and had that been done with the freight waived, it would have saved me money.
