Yes. Eaton Series C F-Frame breakers are HACR rated for use with heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment. Additionally, F-Frame breakers rated from 10A to 50A, including the 40A HFD3040, are approved for High Intensity Discharge (HID) lighting applications.
Can the HFD3040 be reverse fed?
Yes. Eaton Series C F-Frame circuit breakers are designed without line or load orientation restrictions, making them suitable for reverse feed applications.
What is the Power Defense cross-reference for the HFD3040?
Eaton has transitioned the legacy Series C line to the Power Defense series. The direct modern retrofit equivalent for the HFD3040 is catalog number PDG23M0040TFFJ.
Are the trip settings adjustable on this breaker?
No. The HFD3040 features a non-interchangeable thermal-magnetic trip unit with fixed thermal (long-time) and fixed magnetic (instantaneous) trip functions. They cannot be field-adjusted.

Expedited Shipments
