This F-Frame breaker is designed for use in Eaton Series C panelboards, switchboards, and motor control centers.
What is the difference between the FD3025 and the HFD3025?
The HFD3025 is the high interrupting capacity version of the standard FD3025. While they share the same physical dimensions, the HFD3025 provides a 65kA interrupting rating at 480VAC, whereas the standard FD3025 is rated for 35kA at 480VAC.
Are Eaton and Cutler-Hammer HFD3025 breakers interchangeable?
Yes. Eaton acquired Cutler-Hammer and integrated their product lines. An HFD3025 labeled Cutler-Hammer is the exact same physical and electrical component as one labeled Eaton.
What type of wire can be used with the standard lugs on this breaker?
The standard terminals accept either copper or aluminum conductors ranging from 14 AWG to 1/0 AWG.
Can I adjust the trip settings on the HFD3025?
No. This breaker features a fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip unit. If your application requires adjustable trip settings, you will need a breaker with an electronic trip unit instead.
Can the HFD3025 be used in direct current systems?
Yes, this thermal magnetic breaker is rated for use in DC systems up to 250VDC, providing a 22kA interrupting rating.
How is the HFD3025 installed in a panel?
This is a bolt-on molded case circuit breaker. It mounts directly to the panel chassis or backpan using mounting screws, rather than snapping onto a busbar.
Can I use the HFD3025 to replace an FDC3025?
It depends on your system requirements. The FDC3025 has an ultra-high interrupting rating of 100kA at 480VAC. The HFD3025 is only rated for 65kA at 480VAC. You must verify that the available fault current at the installation point does not exceed 65kA before substituting.

Expedited Shipments
