What is the correct replacement lug kit for this breaker?
The standard replacement lug kit is part number TA250KB. These lugs accept one copper or aluminum conductor from 4 AWG to 350 kcmil per terminal.
Does this breaker replace the classic Westinghouse JD3225?
Yes. Eaton acquired the Westinghouse molded case circuit breaker product lines. The modern Eaton Cutler-Hammer JD3225 is a direct replacement for the legacy Westinghouse JD3225.
Can the trip thresholds on the JD3225 be adjusted in the field?
No. This specific model features a fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip unit, meaning neither the overload nor the instantaneous short-circuit trip points can be changed.
How does the JD3225 differ from the HJD3225 and JDC3225 breakers?
These frames share the same physical footprint but have different short circuit interrupting capacities. The standard JD3225 is rated up to 65kA at 240VAC and 35kA at 480VAC. The HJD provides a higher rating of 100kA at 240VAC and 65kA at 480VAC, while the JDC provides 200kA at 240VAC and 100kA at 480VAC.
Is the JD3225 circuit breaker suitable for reverse feed applications?
Yes. Standard Eaton Series C thermal magnetic breakers like the JD3225 do not have line and load markings on the case, making them suitable for reverse feeding.
