This bolt-on breaker is designed for use in GE A-Series panelboards and GE AQ or ReliaGear lighting panels. It will not fit in standard residential load centers that require plug-on breakers.
No. The THQB series features a bolt-on connection, whereas THQL breakers use a plug-on connection. They are not interchangeable.
Yes. As a GFCI breaker, it includes a pigtail neutral wire that must be connected to the neutral bus bar in the panel for the ground fault circuitry to function correctly.
The terminals are designed to accept copper or aluminum conductors ranging from 8 AWG to 3 AWG.
The GFT2 suffix indicates it provides Class A personnel protection, tripping at a 5mA ground fault threshold. This differs from GFEP models, which provide 30mA equipment protection.
The internal common trip mechanism ensures that if one pole experiences an overload, short circuit, or ground fault, both poles will disconnect simultaneously to prevent single phasing.
Once installed and energized, press the integrated test button on the front of the breaker. The breaker should trip immediately, confirming the ground fault circuitry is operating correctly.
