This F-frame breaker is designed for use in Eaton Pow-R-Line C panelboards, legacy Westinghouse panelboards, and compatible switchboards.
Can the Eaton HFB3040 replace an older Westinghouse HFB3040?
Yes. Eaton acquired the Westinghouse distribution equipment business. This breaker is a direct physical and electrical replacement for legacy Westinghouse HFB breakers of the same style and rating.
What is the difference between Eaton FB and HFB circuit breakers?
The HFB series is the Mark 75 high-interrupting capacity version of the standard FB breaker. While they share the same physical F-frame dimensions, the HFB provides higher fault protection, such as 65kA at 240VAC.
How is the HFB3040 applied in direct current (DC) systems?
It is rated for up to 250VDC at 20kA. To safely interrupt DC faults, the manufacturer requires the breaker poles to be wired in series. Standard parallel wiring across independent DC circuits is not permitted.
Are the trip settings on the HFB3040 adjustable?
No, this breaker features a thermal-magnetic trip unit with fixed long-time (thermal) and fixed instantaneous (magnetic) trip functions. The trip points cannot be adjusted in the field.

Shipping
Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
