Product FAQs
7 answers
What does the G in the HGL26125 part number signify?
The G indicates the interrupting capacity tier within the PowerPacT H-Frame series. For this breaker, it signifies a rating of 65kA at 240VAC, 35kA at 480VAC, and 18kA at 600VAC.
Can the Square D HGL26125 be reverse fed?
Yes, standard thermal-magnetic PowerPacT H-Frame breakers like the HGL26125 can be reverse fed. However, breakers with field-interchangeable trip units or those specifically labeled LINE and LOAD cannot be reverse fed.
What enclosures are compatible with the HGL26125?
This breaker is designed for use in Industrial Control Panels, Switchboards, and Square D PowerPacT H-Frame enclosures. When selecting a standalone enclosure, ensure it is specifically rated for 2-pole, 125A H-Frame breakers.
What do the letters L and I mean in the trip function code?
The LI code stands for Long-Time and Instantaneous trip functions. The Long-Time function provides overload protection via a fixed thermal element, while the Instantaneous function protects against short circuits using an adjustable magnetic element.
How do I adjust the magnetic trip setting on this breaker?
The adjustable magnetic, or instantaneous, trip can be configured using the dial located on the front face of the breaker. This allows you to set the short-circuit trip threshold to coordinate with your specific system requirements.
What type of terminals come standard on the HGL26125?
The L in the HGL prefix indicates that this unit-mount breaker comes standard with mechanical lugs on both the line and load sides. The standard lugs accept 14 AWG to 3/0 AWG aluminum or copper wire.
Does this breaker replace older Square D legacy models?
Yes, the HGL26125 serves as an exact unit-mount replacement for legacy KHL26125 breakers in existing infrastructure.
