The QGL32175 is a unit-mount breaker designed for use in Square D NQ and NQOD panelboards, as well as compatible switchboards and individual enclosures. It is not compatible with I-Line panelboards, which require a different mounting configuration.
What is the recommended lug tightening torque for the QGL32175?
The standard line and load lugs on the QGL32175 accept 4 AWG to 300 kcmil aluminum or copper wire. The required tightening torque for these terminals is 248 lb-in (28 N.m).
Is the QGL32175 rated for 100 percent continuous duty?
No, the QGL32175 is a standard 80 percent rated circuit breaker. Continuous loads should not exceed 140 amps, which is 80 percent of its 175-amp nominal rating.
Can the QGL32175 be reverse fed for backfeed applications?
Yes, this thermal-magnetic Q-frame breaker can be reverse fed. Because it does not contain an electronic trip unit with directional protection, it can be safely backfed in applications like generator inputs or solar tie-ins, provided it is properly labeled and secured per local codes.
What is the difference between the QGL32175, QDL32175, and QJL32175?
The difference is the short-circuit interrupting rating at 240V. The QDL32175 is rated at 25kAIC, the QGL32175 is rated at 65kAIC, and the QJL32175 is rated at 100kAIC. The QGL32175 can safely replace a QDL32175, but it cannot be used if a 100kAIC rating is required.
Does the QGL32175 feature adjustable trip settings?
No, the QGL32175 features a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit. Both the long-time overload protection and the instantaneous short-circuit protection are factory set and cannot be adjusted in the field.

Expedited Shipments
