Description
Operating within the 3VA4 frame family, the Siemens 3VA4195-4ED34-0AA0 is a 3-pole, 15A molded case circuit breaker. It features a TM210 thermal-magnetic trip unit, providing fixed long-time and instantaneous (LI) protection. The breaker bolts securely into Siemens P1, P2, and P3 panelboards. It is the designated replacement for the older ED43B015 (ED4 Frame), allowing for straightforward system maintenance. No. This is a bolt-on molded case circuit breaker built exclusively for Siemens P1, P2, and P3 panelboards, as well as commercial switchboards. It will not fit in standard residential plug-on or bolt-on load centers.
Does this model support direct current (DC) voltage applications?
Yes, in addition to its AC ratings, this breaker is rated for direct current applications up to 250VDC with a maximum interrupting capacity of 50kAIC.
What wire sizes are compatible with the factory lugs?
The factory-installed lugs accept 14 AWG to 8 AWG conductors. They are rated for both copper and aluminum wire. Always refer to the breaker faceplate for proper torque specifications before terminating.
Can I adjust the trip settings on this thermal-magnetic breaker?
No. This unit features a fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip unit (LI function). Neither the Long-Time overload nor the Instantaneous short-circuit protection can be dialed or adjusted in the field.
Is the 3VA41 frame a direct replacement for legacy ED frame breakers?
The 3VA41 frame is Siemens's modern 125-amp equivalent to the older Sentron ED frame series. However, they have different physical dimensions and mounting footprints. You will likely need updated strap kits or panelboard mounting hardware to retrofit a 3VA unit into an older enclosure.
What is the significance of the 600Y/347V rating?
The slash rating means this breaker is strictly approved for solidly grounded wye systems where the line-to-line voltage is 600V maximum and the line-to-ground voltage is 347V maximum. It is not suitable for ungrounded or impedance-grounded delta configurations.
