What is the difference between the BQ1B050 and the BQ1B050H?
The standard BQ1B050 has an interrupting rating of 10kAIC. The BQ1B050H is the high-interrupting version, rated for 22kAIC at 120VAC, making it suitable for systems with higher available fault currents.
Does this breaker replace older I-T-E or Gould BQ breakers?
Yes. Siemens acquired the electrical divisions of I-T-E and Gould. The BQ1B050H is the direct, UL-listed replacement for older I-T-E and Gould 50A, 1-pole BQ-frame bolt-on breakers.
Can the BQ1B050H be used for 240V equipment?
No. As a 1-pole breaker, it only provides 120V to ground. You must use a 2-pole BQ or BQH breaker for 240V loads.
Are load lugs included with the BQ1B050H?
Yes, it comes with factory-installed mechanical lugs. They accept 8 to 1 AWG copper wire or 6 to 1/0 AWG aluminum wire.
