The primary difference is the short circuit interrupting rating. The HED43B125 is a high-interrupting breaker rated for 42kAIC at 480V and 100kAIC at 240V. The standard ED43B125 is rated for 18kAIC at 480V and 65kAIC at 240V. Both share the exact same physical ED frame dimensions and panelboard mounting configuration.
Can the HED43B125 be used in reverse feed applications?
Yes. Because the HED43B125 is manufactured with a non-interchangeable trip unit, it is suitable and UL approved for reverse feed applications in compatible enclosures and panelboards.
Is this breaker interchangeable with older ITE brand HED4 breakers?
Yes. Siemens acquired the ITE electrical distribution line. The modern Siemens HED43B125 is a direct physical and electrical replacement for legacy ITE HED4 125A, 3-pole breakers installed in legacy Sentron panelboards or SB switchboards.
Are the thermal and magnetic trip limits field adjustable for coordination?
No. The HED43B125 utilizes a non-interchangeable, fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit. For modern applications requiring precise field adjustments or electronic trip curves, engineers typically specify the newer Siemens 3VA6 series circuit breakers, which require dedicated retrofit hardware for older panels.

Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
