No. The QE240 is a Ground Fault Equipment Protection (GFEP) breaker with a 30mA trip threshold. It is designed to protect machinery and equipment from line-to-ground faults, rather than providing the 5mA personnel protection of a Class A GFCI.
Can the Siemens QE240 replace older Murray equipment protection breakers?
Yes. The Siemens QE240 is the direct replacement for legacy Murray MP240EP and Siemens Q240EG 40A GFEP breakers.
How is the neutral connected on the QE240 breaker?
The QE240 features a pigtail neutral connection. The coiled white pigtail wire must be connected directly to the panel neutral bus bar, while the load neutral wire connects to the designated neutral lug on the breaker itself.
Which electrical panels are compatible with the QE240 breaker?
This plug-on breaker is designed for use in standard Siemens load centers and Siemens P1 panelboards that accept QP-frame breakers.
Does Siemens offer a version of this 40A GFEP breaker with a higher interrupting rating?
The standard QE240 has a 10kAIC rating. If your application requires a 22kAIC rating, you will need the QE240H or its direct replacement, the Q240EGH.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
