5 answersWill the EDB24040 fit standard Square D QO or NQ panelboards?
No. The EDB24040 is a bolt-on E-frame breaker designed exclusively for Square D NF panelboards. It cannot be installed in NQ, NQOD, I-Line, or standard QO load centers.
Can I substitute an EGB or EJB breaker for the EDB24040?
Yes. EGB and EJB circuit breakers share the same physical dimensions and bolt-on mounting for NF panelboards but provide higher maximum interrupting ratings. The EDB frame is rated for 18 kA at 480Y/277V, whereas the EGB is rated for 35 kA and the EJB is rated for 65 kA.
What are the lug tightening torque specifications for the EDB24040?
For conductor sizes 14 AWG to 10 AWG, torque the lugs to 34.5 lb-in. For larger 8 AWG to 2/0 AWG conductors, the required torque increases to 49.6 lb-in.
Is the EDB24040 rated for commercial lighting or HVAC loads?

Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
