This breaker is specifically designed for use in Square D NF series panelboards. It is an E-Frame circuit breaker and will not physically fit or connect in standard QO or I-Line panels.
Can the EGB24030 be used on an ungrounded 480V delta system?
No. The 480Y/277VAC designation is a slash voltage rating. This means the breaker is only approved for use in solidly grounded wye systems where the line-to-ground voltage does not exceed 277 volts.
What wire sizes and materials are accepted by the terminal lugs?
The built-in lugs accommodate dual wire materials, accepting 14 to 6 AWG for copper conductors and 12 to 6 AWG for aluminum conductors.
What does the LI trip function on this breaker mean?
LI stands for Long-Time and Instantaneous. The breaker utilizes fixed thermal-magnetic technology where the long-time function protects against gradual overloads, and the instantaneous function trips immediately to clear a short circuit.
Is this a plug-on or bolt-on circuit breaker?
The EGB24030 requires a bolt-on connection. It must be mechanically fastened to the bus bar of an NF panelboard, providing a highly secure connection for commercial and industrial applications.
How does the interrupting capacity change based on system voltage?
When installed in a 480Y/277VAC electrical system, the breaker has a maximum short-circuit interrupting rating of 35,000 amps (35kAIC). On 120VAC or 240VAC systems, this fault rating increases to 65,000 amps (65kAIC).

Expedited Shipments
