5 answersWhat panelboards are compatible with the EHB24040?
The EHB24040 is a bolt-on circuit breaker designed specifically for legacy Square D NEHB panelboards. It is not compatible with modern NF or NQ series panels.
Is the Square D EHB24040 obsolete?
Yes, the EHB series and the NEHB panelboards they mount into are obsolete. The modern equivalent is the EDB series, but EDB breakers require a complete NF panelboard swap and will not fit into an NEHB panel.
Can the EHB24040 be used on a 120/240V system?
Yes. While it is commonly used on 277/480VAC systems with a 14kAIC rating, it also carries a higher 65kAIC interrupting rating for use on 120/240VAC systems.
How does the EHB24040 mount into the panelboard?
It features a bolt-on connection, requiring it to be physically bolted to the busbar of the NEHB panelboard. Ensure the panel is completely de-energized before attempting to install or remove bolt-on breakers.
What type of trip protection does the EHB24040 provide?
It utilizes fixed thermal-magnetic trip technology, providing both long-time (L) protection against sustained overloads and instantaneous (I) protection against short circuits.

Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
