This E-frame breaker is designed exclusively for use in Square D NF series panelboards. It will not fit in NQ or I-Line panelboards.
What is the difference between the EJB24030 and the EDB24030 or EGB24030?
The difference lies in the interrupting capacity at 480Y/277VAC. The EDB series is rated at 18kAIC, the EGB series at 35kAIC, and this EJB series offers the highest rating at 65kAIC. All three share the same physical footprint and fit the same NF panelboards.
Can the EJB24030 be installed on a 480V ungrounded delta system?
No. This breaker has a 480Y/277VAC slash rating, meaning it is only approved for solidly grounded wye systems where the voltage to ground does not exceed 277VAC. It is not rated for ungrounded or corner-grounded delta systems.
How does the interrupting rating (AIC) change based on system voltage?
The breaker provides a maximum interrupting capacity of 100kA at 120VAC and 240VAC. When installed in a 480Y/277VAC system, the rating drops to 65kA.
What wire sizes are accepted by the terminals on the EJB24030?
The factory-installed lugs accommodate 14 AWG to 6 AWG copper (Cu) conductors, or 12 AWG to 6 AWG aluminum (Al) conductors.
Does this breaker plug onto the panel bus?
No, the EJB24030 features a bolt-on connection. It must be physically bolted to the busbar of the NF panelboard, which provides a highly secure, vibration-resistant electrical connection compared to plug-on designs.
Are the trip settings adjustable on the EJB24030?
No, this breaker utilizes fixed thermal-magnetic trip technology. Both the long-time (overload) and instantaneous (short circuit) trip functions are factory set and cannot be adjusted in the field.

Expedited Shipments
