This device is engineered specifically for Square D Class 650 and 651 I-Line panelboards and switchboards. It connects directly to the stepped bus structure without requiring line-side cabling.
Does this breaker require a separate mounting hardware kit for the line side?
No. Because it utilizes the I-Line plug-on mounting design, the breaker features built-in jaws that grip the bus bars directly. A single retaining screw secures the unit to the backpan.
What is the instantaneous trip threshold for this 40-amp breaker?
The fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit has an instantaneous magnetic trip mechanism designed to activate and clear faults between 400 and 850 amps.
Is the FC34040 still actively manufactured by Square D?
No, this legacy F-frame model is completely obsolete. Facilities upgrading a panel currently using this footprint will typically need to transition to modern PowerPact H-frame I-Line breakers.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
