Designed for industrial power distribution, the Square D FH36015 delivers 15A of thermal-magnetic protection. It provides reliable long-time and instantaneous (LI) trip functions for robust circuit defense. This legacy F-Frame breaker mounts into Square D I-Line panelboards, utilizing a plug-on design for efficient installation. It replaces older units and can be substituted with the BGA36015 model. Rated for 25kAIC at 480VAC, the unit features a visual trip indicator and is HACR rated.

Product FAQs
9 answers
What panelboards accept the FH36015 circuit breaker?
This breaker is designed specifically for Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards. It utilizes a plug-on I-Line connection that mounts directly to the internal bus stack.
Will this fit in a standard NQ or NF series panelboard?
No. The FH36015 requires an I-Line bus structure. It is not compatible with NQ, NF, QO, or Homeline panelboards.
How much mounting space does this 3-pole breaker require?
As an F-frame I-Line breaker, it requires 4.5 inches of vertical mounting space on the panelboard bus, which equates to 1.5 inches per pole.
How is the breaker secured to the I-Line bus?
The breaker features plug-on jaws that push onto the bus stack. It is then mechanically secured to the panelboard backpan using a built-in retaining bracket and screw.
Can the FH36015 replace an older FA36015 breaker?
Yes, the FH36015 shares the same physical dimensions and I-Line mounting as the FA36015. It also offers a higher interrupting rating (25kAIC at 480V compared to the FA model's 18kAIC), making it a suitable upgrade or replacement.
What is the modern PowerPact equivalent to this legacy breaker?
The modern replacement is the PowerPact H-frame series. To meet or exceed the 25kAIC at 480V rating of the FH36015, the HGA36015 is recommended, as it provides 35kAIC. The HDA36015 is physically compatible but only rated for 18kAIC at 480V.
Is this breaker suitable for direct current (DC) systems?
Yes, it carries a DC rating of 250VDC with a 10kA interrupting capacity, allowing it to be used in compatible direct current applications.
What type of protection does the LI trip unit provide?
The LI designation means the breaker includes Long-Time and Instantaneous trip functions. Long-Time protects against sustained overloads, while Instantaneous provides immediate tripping during severe short circuits.
Are the thermal or magnetic trip thresholds adjustable on this model?
No. The FH36015 uses a fixed thermal magnetic trip unit. The overload and short-circuit trip points are factory calibrated and cannot be modified by the user.
