Yes. The PowerPact J-Frame JGA36175 is the direct, modernized replacement for the obsolete KA-Frame KA36175 breaker. It mounts into the exact same I-Line panelboards and offers equivalent or superior interrupting capabilities.
How do I decipher the JGA36175 catalog number?
The "J" designates the PowerPact J-Frame. "G" represents the interrupting rating tier. "A" indicates an I-Line style plug-in connection. The "3" means three-pole, the "6" indicates a 600V maximum voltage rating, and "175" specifies the 175-amp trip rating.
Is the JGA36175 trip unit field-interchangeable?
No. This specific breaker features a factory-sealed thermal-magnetic trip unit. If you require a different amperage or trip characteristic, the entire breaker must be replaced, or you must select a unit-mount frame specifically configured for field-interchangeable units.
Do I need a mounting adapter to install this breaker in an older I-Line panel?
No. The JGA36175 is a standard I-Line plug-in breaker. Its integral mounting bracket and plug-on jaws are designed to snap directly onto the bus of both legacy and modern Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards without adapters.
Does the JGA36175 require an external load lug kit?
No. The breaker comes factory-equipped with line-side plug-on jaws for the I-Line bus and standard mechanical load lugs (part number AL175JD) built-in. These standard lugs accept both aluminum and copper wire within the specified gauge range.
Is the JGA36175 rated for 100 percent continuous loads?
No. Like all standard PowerPact J-Frame I-Line breakers, the JGA36175 is rated for 80 percent continuous loads. Square D does not offer 100 percent rated options in the I-Line plug-in configuration.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
