The direct modern replacement is the Square D PowerPact J-frame JGA36225 [2.1.1]. It fits the exact same I-Line panelboards and offers equivalent or higher protection ratings, though it features an updated trip unit and body design.
Can the KA36225 be installed in standard QO or Homeline residential load centers?
No. The KA36225 utilizes an I-Line plug-on connection. It is designed strictly for commercial and industrial Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards. It will not fit in QO, Homeline, NQ, or NF series panels.
Is the magnetic trip point adjustable on the KA36225?
Yes. While the thermal overload (long-time) rating is fixed at 225 amps, the instantaneous magnetic trip is adjustable. For this specific 225A model, the magnetic trip can typically be tuned between 1125A (Low) and 2250A (High). This adjustability helps coordinate with downstream devices and prevents nuisance tripping from motor or transformer inrush currents.
Are separate mounting hardware kits required to install the KA36225?
No. Because this is an I-Line style plug-in breaker, it features built-in connection jaws. These jaws press securely onto the I-Line bus stack inside the panelboard, meaning no additional mounting straps or kits are required for installation.
Can the KA36225 I-Line breaker be reverse fed?

Expedited Shipments

I have ordered many breakers through SuperBreakers with no issues until this order. I ordered this breaker and it wasn't shipped. I sent a message and was told that a mistake was make in shipping and that they would next day air the breaker to me. 5 days later (weekend in there) the breaker arrived. Not next day air, but shit happens. Sent the breaker still in the box out with my electrician and received a call from him that the breaker that was sent was a KAL36100 not the KA36100. I reached out to SuperBreakers and was told the correct breaker would be next day aired that day and I was emailed a shipping label to send back the incorrect one. This time it arrived the next day and was installed. This error cost my customer a couple days with out power to a dimmer cabinet and about 2 extra hours of labor, but all was okay in the end. Mistakes happen. The help and quick responses to my emails I received from Mike David showed me enough about this company. I look forward to my next order. Thank you for working this situation out in timely manor.
