The MAL36700 is a legacy M-Frame circuit breaker. For new installations or facility upgrades, it transitions to the modern Square D PowerPact M-Frame series, such as the MGL36700, which offers updated electronic trip units while covering the same 700A footprint.
Can I install the MAL36700 in an I-Line panelboard?
No, the MAL36700 is a unit mount, or feed-thru, breaker designed for bolt-on installations. It uses cable lugs on both the line and load sides and lacks the required jaw connections to plug into an I-Line bussing system. You must use an I-Line specific breaker for those panelboards.
How is the magnetic trip adjusted on this breaker?
The MAL36700 features a thermal magnetic trip unit with a fixed thermal element and an adjustable magnetic element. The instantaneous magnetic trip threshold can be dialed in using the adjustment switch on the face of the breaker, allowing for precise coordination with downstream devices.

Expedited Shipments
