7 answersDoes this breaker require field adjustment for the trip settings?
No. The QBA32225 is equipped with a non-interchangeable, fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit. Both the Long-Time and Instantaneous (LI) protection functions are factory-set and cannot be modified during installation.
Are the load-side lugs included with the breaker?
Yes, the breaker comes complete with standard mechanical load-side lugs. They are rated for both aluminum and copper conductors ranging from 4 AWG to 300 kcmil. The line side connects directly to the I-Line bus.
Is the QBA32225 rated for 100 percent continuous duty?
No, this PowerPact Q-Frame breaker carries a standard 80 percent continuous current rating. To prevent nuisance tripping and overheating, continuous electrical loads operating for three hours or more should not exceed 180 amps.
Can I install this breaker in a 480V system?
No. The QBA32225 has a maximum voltage rating of 240VAC. It is exclusively designed for 120V, 208V, and 240V power systems and cannot be safely used in 277/480V or 600V distribution networks.
What is the phase connection configuration?
The standard QBA32225 features an ABC phase connection. This means it will draw power equally from the A, B, and C phases when mounted onto the panelboard bus stack.
Can this breaker replace older Square D Q-Frame I-Line models?
Yes, the PowerPact QBA32225 serves as a direct replacement for legacy Q-Frame I-Line breakers with matching 225-amp and 10kAIC specifications. It maintains backward compatibility with older Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards.
How does the I-Line connection mount to the panelboard?
The I-Line plug-in design features line-side jaws that press directly onto the internal panelboard bus stack. This eliminates the need for separate bolted wire connections on the line side, while standard mechanical lugs are utilized for the load-side field wiring.

Expedited Shipments
