Yes. The QO120CAFI replaces the discontinued QO120AFI [1.2.2]. The newer CAFI model provides combination arc fault protection, which detects both series and parallel arcs, meeting modern NEC requirements that older branch or feeder AFI models do not.
Will the QO120CAFI fit in a Plug-on Neutral (PON) load center?
Yes. While the QO120CAFI is a pigtail neutral breaker, it is fully compatible with Plug-on Neutral load centers. You simply connect the breaker's coiled pigtail directly to the neutral bus bar. For a breaker without a pigtail that connects directly to a PON bus, you would use the QO120PCAFI.
Can I install this breaker in a Square D Homeline panel?
No. The QO120CAFI is part of the QO series and will only fit QO load centers, NQ panelboards, and NQOD panelboards. Homeline panels utilize a different mounting format and require HOM series breakers.
How do I wire the neutral connections on the QO120CAFI?
Connect the coiled white pigtail wire extending from the breaker to the panel's neutral bus bar. Then, terminate the white neutral wire coming from your branch circuit load directly into the neutral terminal located on the breaker itself.
What does CAFI stand for on this breaker?
CAFI stands for Combination Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter. Unlike older AFCI models that only detect parallel arcs, combination AFCI breakers detect both parallel arcs and low-energy series arcs to provide comprehensive fire protection for the entire circuit.
Does this breaker feature Time Saver Diagnostics?
Yes. The QO120CAFI includes Square D Time Saver Diagnostics. If the breaker trips, you can use the test button procedure to determine if the trip was caused by a ground fault, an arc fault, or a standard overload or short circuit, significantly reducing troubleshooting time.
Is the QO120CAFI a dual function breaker?
No. This breaker provides combination arc fault (CAFI) protection only. It does not provide Class A ground fault (GFCI) protection. If your circuit requires both AFCI and GFCI protection, you need a dual function breaker, such as the QO120DF.
What is the purpose of the white button on the front of the breaker?

Expedited Shipments
