Product FAQs
4 answersWhat electrical panels are compatible with the Eaton BR115CAF circuit breaker?
This breaker is designed for use in Eaton Type BR load centers. It is also a UL-approved replacement for legacy Bryant, Westinghouse, and Challenger panels that are listed to accept Type BR breakers.
Does the BR115CAF replace the older BR115AF breaker?
Yes, the BR115CAF is the direct replacement for the discontinued BR115AF and BRCAF115 models. While the older BR115AF was a branch/feeder AFCI, the BR115CAF is a modern combination AFCI that meets current NEC requirements.
How is the neutral connection handled on the BR115CAF?
This breaker features a pigtail neutral connection. The coiled white pigtail wire must be connected directly to the neutral bus bar in the load center to ensure proper arc fault detection.
What is the difference between a combination AFCI like the BR115CAF and a standard AFCI?
A combination AFCI detects both parallel arc faults, such as line-to-neutral shorts, and series arc faults, like loose connections or damaged wires in series with the load. Older branch/feeder AFCIs only detected parallel arcs.
