ABB / General Electric THHQB32020 Miniature Circuit Breaker

The THHQB32020 is a bolt-on Q-Line breaker designed for use in GE A-Series and ReliaGear panelboards. It is not compatible with standard GE residential load centers, which typically require plug-on THQL breakers.

Both are 20-amp, 3-pole, bolt-on Q-Line breakers, but they have different short-circuit interrupting ratings. The THQB32020 is rated at 10kAIC, while the THHQB32020 has a higher interrupting capacity of 22kAIC at 208/240V.

The THHQB32020 (22kAIC) will physically fit in the same space as a TXQB32020 (65kAIC), but you must verify that your system's available fault current does not exceed 22kAIC. If the system requires a 65kAIC rating, you must use the TXQB version to maintain safety and code compliance.

This breaker features a bolt-on connection type. It bolts directly to the bus connections of compatible GE A-Series or ReliaGear lighting panels, providing a secure mechanical and electrical connection that prevents accidental dislodging.

The load side box lugs accept 14 to 8 AWG copper wire or 12 to 8 AWG aluminum wire. Ensure proper torque is applied during installation according to the panelboard specifications.

The LI code indicates that this thermal-magnetic breaker includes Long-Time and Instantaneous trip functions. The long-time thermal element protects against sustained overloads, while the instantaneous magnetic element trips immediately during a short circuit.

GE Q-Line breakers are 1 inch wide per pole. As a 3-pole breaker, the THHQB32020 requires 3 inches of continuous space on the panelboard bus.
