Product FAQs
6 answers
What panelboards are compatible with the TXQB32030 circuit breaker?
This 3-pole Q-Line breaker is designed to bolt directly to the busbars of GE A-Series panelboards and GE AQ lighting panels.
How does the TXQB32030 compare to THQB32030 and THHQB32030 breakers?
These breakers share the same physical dimensions and bolt-on mounting, but they have different interrupting ratings. The TXQB32030 is rated for 65kAIC at 240VAC, the THHQB32030 is rated for 22kAIC, and the standard THQB32030 is rated for 10kAIC.
Why is this breaker listed as both ABB and General Electric?
ABB acquired GE Industrial Solutions. As a result, Q-Line breakers like the TXQB32030 may arrive with either ABB or General Electric branding, but they are the exact same product and are fully interchangeable.
Does this breaker plug in or bolt on to the panel?
The TXQB32030 requires a bolt-on connection. It fastens directly to the panel busbar with screws, providing a secure, vibration-resistant installation commonly required in commercial lighting and distribution panels.
Can I use aluminum wire with the TXQB32030?
Yes, the lugs on this breaker are rated for both copper and aluminum conductors. It accepts 14 to 8 AWG copper wire or 12 to 8 AWG aluminum wire.
How does the thermal-magnetic trip mechanism work on this breaker?
The fixed thermal-magnetic (LI) trip unit provides two layers of protection. The thermal component responds to prolonged overloads by heating up and tripping the breaker, while the magnetic component responds instantly to severe short circuits.
