Product FAQs

8 answers
What panelboards accept the THQB2130 circuit breaker?

This bolt-on breaker is specifically designed for ABB and General Electric A-Series panelboards, including AQ lighting panels. It will not fit in standard GE residential load centers.

What is the difference between GE THQB and THQL circuit breakers?

THQB models utilize a bolt-on mounting connection for commercial panelboards, while THQL models are plug-in breakers intended for standard load centers. They are not interchangeable.

Can I replace a THQB breaker with a THHQB version?

Yes. THHQB breakers share the exact physical dimensions and bolt-on mounting style as THQB models but provide a higher 22kAIC interrupting rating. You can use a THHQB in place of a THQB, but you cannot downgrade to a THQB if your system requires a 22kAIC minimum rating.

Is this circuit breaker HACR rated?

Yes, the THQB2130 is HACR rated, making it certified for use with heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment that requires this specific overcurrent protection designation.

Why is the brand listed as ABB / General Electric?

ABB acquired GE Industrial Solutions. Products previously manufactured under the General Electric name are now produced by ABB to the exact same specifications and physical standards.

What UL standard does the THQB series meet?

THQB miniature circuit breakers are UL 489 listed for use as branch circuit overcurrent protection devices in commercial and industrial applications.

Does the THQB2130 offer arc fault or ground fault protection?

No. This is a standard thermal-magnetic breaker that provides protection against overloads and short circuits. It does not contain AFCI or GFCI circuitry.

How does the trip mechanism function on this 2-pole breaker?

It features an internal common trip bar. If an overcurrent or short-circuit event occurs on either leg of the circuit, both poles will disconnect simultaneously to prevent single-phasing to your connected equipment.
