7 answersWhat is the modern replacement for the GE TQAL21100?
The GE THQL21100 is the current production equivalent. The THQL series replaces older TQAL models and is compatible with panels that list TQAL or TQL-AC breakers on their interior label.
Can I install the TQAL21100 in a non-GE panel?
No. This is a proprietary plug-in breaker designed exclusively for GE PowerMark load centers and legacy GE panels. It is not UL listed for use in competitor panels such as Square D, Siemens, or Eaton.
Is the TQAL21100 interchangeable with GE THQP breakers?
No. The TQAL21100 is a full-size breaker requiring 1-inch per pole. THQP breakers are half-size (1/2-inch per pole) and require a specialized cruciform bus bar configuration that is not interchangeable with standard TQAL or THQL breakers.
How much panel space does the TQAL21100 require?
As a standard 2-pole Q-Line breaker, it requires two full 1-inch spaces in a compatible GE load center.
What does the LI trip function indicate on this breaker?
The LI designation means the breaker uses a thermal-magnetic mechanism to provide Long-Time and Instantaneous protection. The long-time thermal element protects against sustained overloads, while the instantaneous magnetic element trips immediately during a short circuit.
Is the TQAL21100 HACR rated?
Yes. This breaker is HACR rated, meaning it is approved for use with heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment that requires this specific safety designation.
Does this breaker provide GFCI or AFCI protection?
No. The TQAL21100 is a standard thermal-magnetic circuit breaker. It does not include Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) or Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (AFCI) protection.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
