While the 3VA4120-4ED14-0AA0 integrates into Siemens P1 through P5 panelboards, you must use the specific 3VA41 branch breaker mounting strap kit designed for your panelboard generation. It will not mount to legacy ED-frame connection straps.
Can I use the 3VA4120-4ED14-0AA0 to replace an older ED41B020 breaker?
Yes. This 3VA41 frame breaker serves as a modern functional replacement for legacy Siemens 1-pole ED-frame breakers, including the ED41B020, ED61B020, and ED21B020. Upgrading an existing panelboard from ED-frame to 3VA4-frame breakers will require replacing the original connection strap kit.
Does the 3VA4120-4ED14-0AA0 support reverse feed wiring?
Yes. This unit is certified for reverse feed applications. The internal thermal-magnetic trip unit will protect the circuit reliably regardless of whether the line power is landed on the top or bottom terminals.
Is this breaker approved for continuous switching of lighting loads?
Yes. Because it carries SWD (Switching Duty) and HID (High-Intensity Discharge) ratings, it can be safely used to manually switch 120V or 277V fluorescent or HID lighting circuits on and off on a regular basis without degrading the contacts.
Are the trip limits on the TM210 trip unit adjustable?
No. The TM210 thermal-magnetic trip unit installed in this breaker features a fixed long-time overload setting and a fixed instantaneous short-circuit setting. It cannot be field-adjusted to different amperage thresholds.
