The BJ3150 is designed for Eaton Type BR load centers. It is also backward compatible with legacy Westinghouse and Bryant panels that accept BR style plug-on circuit breakers.
What type and size of wire does the BJ3150 accept?
The factory-installed lugs on the BJ3150 accept wire gauges ranging from 2 AWG to 300 kcmil. These terminals are dual-rated for use with either copper or aluminum conductors.
How many panel spaces does the BJ3150 require?
This 3-pole breaker requires a total of six 1-inch pole spaces. When mounted, it spans both sides of the bus bar, occupying three spaces on the left side and three spaces on the right side of the load center.
Can I adjust the trip settings on the Eaton BJ3150?
No. The BJ3150 features a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit. Both the long-time (overload) and instantaneous (short circuit) trip parameters are factory calibrated and cannot be modified in the field.
Does the BJ3150 use a bolt-on connection?
No, the BJ3150 features a plug-on connection type. It pushes directly onto the bus bar and does not require bolting. Verify that your panel is designed to accept plug-in style main or sub-feed breakers prior to installation.
Can the BJ3150 be used in 480V systems?
No, the BJ3150 is strictly rated for a maximum of 240VAC. It is not designed, rated, or certified for use in 480V or 277/480V commercial applications.
Is there a higher interrupting rated version of the BJ3150?
Yes. If your electrical system requires a short-circuit interrupting capacity higher than the 10kAIC provided by the BJ3150, you can use the BJH3150. The BJH3150 offers the same physical footprint and 150A rating but features a 22kAIC rating at 240VAC.

Expedited Shipments
