Both are Quicklag bolt-on miniature circuit breakers that fit the same Eaton and Westinghouse panelboards. The primary difference is the short circuit interrupting rating. The BAB series is rated for 10 kAIC, while the QBHW series provides a higher 22 kAIC rating for commercial and industrial applications.
Which panelboards are compatible with the QBHW3100H?
This 3-pole bolt-on breaker is compatible with Eaton Pow-R-Line 1, Pow-R-Line 2, PRL1a, PRL2a, PRL1X, and PRL2X panelboards. It also fits older Westinghouse commercial panelboards that accept Quicklag bolt-on style breakers.
Can the QBHW3100H be installed in a standard residential load center?
No. This is a bolt-on circuit breaker designed strictly for commercial and industrial panelboards with bolted bus connections. It will not mount in standard residential load centers that require plug-on style breakers, such as the Eaton BR or CH series.
What type of trip protection does the QBHW3100H provide?
It is a standard thermal-magnetic breaker offering long-time and instantaneous trip functions to protect against overloads and short circuits. It does not contain arc fault or ground fault protection circuitry.
Can I use aluminum wire with the QBHW3100H breaker?
Yes. The factory-installed box lugs on this breaker are dual-rated for both copper and aluminum conductors. Ensure your wire is appropriately sized between 8 AWG and 1/0 AWG and torqued to manufacturer specifications.

Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping

Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
