The BRH225 is designed for use in Eaton Type BR load centers. It is also UL listed for use in compatible legacy Westinghouse, Bryant, and Challenger panels that accept Type BR breakers.
What is the difference between an Eaton BR225 and a BRH225?
The primary difference is the interrupting capacity. The standard BR225 has a 10kAIC rating, while the BRH225 features a higher 22kAIC rating for applications requiring higher fault current protection.
Can I use this to replace an older Cutler-Hammer BRH225?
Yes. Eaton acquired Cutler-Hammer, and this Eaton BRH225 is the direct replacement for the legacy Cutler-Hammer version of the same catalog number.
Is the BRH225 HACR rated for HVAC equipment?
Yes, this breaker is HACR rated, making it suitable for use with heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment that requires this specific rating.
Can I install a BRH225 in an Eaton Type CH panel?
No. Type BR and Type CH breakers are not interchangeable. The BRH225 features a 1-inch per pole footprint and will only fit Type BR load centers, not the 3/4-inch Type CH panels.
Does the BRH225 require a plug-on neutral panel?
No. The BRH225 is a standard thermal magnetic breaker, not an AFCI or GFCI, so it does not require a plug-on neutral connection. It installs onto the bus bar using a standard plug-on mounting style.
Can I use the BRH225 to replace a 10kAIC breaker?
Yes. You can replace a 10kAIC Type BR breaker with the 22kAIC BRH225, provided the physical dimensions and amperage match. However, you cannot replace a 22kAIC breaker with a 10kAIC version if the panel or system specifies a 22kAIC minimum.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
