Built for residential power distribution, the Eaton CC3200N serves as a robust 200A main breaker kit. It provides essential thermal-magnetic overcurrent protection for modern electrical systems. Mounts into Eaton BR load centers and Type ECC unit enclosures using a convenient plug-on design. This unit is officially replaced by the CCV3200N for future upgrades. Rated at 10 kAIC at 240VAC, this three-pole MCCB accepts 2/0 AWG to 300 kcmil wiring, making it ideal for service entrances.
Which load centers are compatible with the CC3200N circuit breaker?
This three-pole main breaker is specifically designed for use in three-phase Eaton BR series loadcenters and Type ECC unit enclosures. It is not compatible with Eaton CH series panels.
What are the acceptable wire sizes for the CC3200N terminals?
The built-in lugs accept either copper or aluminum conductors ranging from 2/0 AWG to 300 kcmil. Ensure you use the proper torque specifications during installation.
Is the CC3200N suitable for 480V commercial applications?
No. This breaker has a maximum voltage rating of 240V AC and an interrupting capacity of 10kAIC. It is not rated for 480V or 277/480V systems.
Can I use the Eaton CC3200N to replace an older Cutler-Hammer CC3200N?
Yes. Eaton acquired Cutler-Hammer, and they manufacture the exact same breakers under the Eaton name. The CC3200N is a direct replacement for the legacy Cutler-Hammer version.
Is this breaker used for branch circuits or as a main breaker?
The CC3200N is primarily utilized as a main breaker kit for three-phase convertible loadcenters and unit enclosures, providing primary overcurrent protection for the entire panel.
What type of protection does the LI trip function provide on this breaker?
The LI (Long-Time and Instantaneous) thermal-magnetic trip unit provides dual protection. The thermal component protects against sustained overloads, while the magnetic component trips immediately during a severe short circuit.
Can the CC3200N be used in systems requiring a 22kAIC or 65kAIC rating?
No. The CC3200N is rated for a maximum fault current of 10kAIC at 240V AC. If your system requires a higher interrupting capacity, you will need to source a different breaker series.
