Product FAQs

5 answers
Which panelboards accept the NEF431070 circuit breaker?

This NEF-frame breaker is designed specifically for legacy Federal Pacific Electric (FPE) bolt-on panelboards and distribution equipment that accommodate N-frame molded case circuit breakers.

Is the NEF431070 part of the FPE Stab-Lok series?

No. The NEF431070 is a commercial-grade molded case circuit breaker with a bolt-on connection. It is not part of the residential Stab-Lok series, which utilizes a different plug-on design and has a distinct operational history.

Are new OEM replacements available for the NEF431070?

Federal Pacific Electric is no longer in business, so direct modern OEM replacements are not manufactured. Maintaining existing FPE N-frame panelboards requires sourcing legacy NEF breakers or upgrading the distribution equipment.

Can the trip unit on the NEF431070 be adjusted in the field?

No. This breaker features a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit. The long-time and instantaneous protection settings are factory-calibrated and cannot be modified or interchanged by the installer.

What does the LI trip function mean for this FPE breaker?

The LI designation indicates that the thermal-magnetic trip unit provides Long-Time (L) protection against sustained overloads and Instantaneous (I) protection against severe short circuits.

    Great service & pricing

Superbreakers did a great job for us. We called and asked if the breakers were actually in their possession. Withing 30 minutes they called us back (which is rare these days), and we got our breakers the next morning.
