Product FAQs

7 answers
Which panelboards are compatible with the THQB1120GF breaker?

This breaker is designed to fit GE A-Series panelboards, including AQ, AE, and AD lighting panels that accept bolt-on Q-Line circuit breakers.

Are THQB and THQL circuit breakers interchangeable in the same panel?

No, they are not interchangeable. While both belong to the GE Q-Line family, THQB breakers feature a bolt-on mounting style for commercial panels, whereas THQL breakers use a plug-on connection typically found in residential load centers.

What is the ground fault trip threshold for the THQB1120GF?

This breaker provides Class A personnel protection with a 5mA ground fault trip threshold. It is designed to interrupt the circuit quickly if current leakage reaches this level to protect users from electrical shock.

Does this GFCI breaker require a dedicated neutral connection?

Yes, it includes a built-in pigtail neutral wire that must be securely connected to the neutral bar in your panel for the ground fault detection circuitry to function properly.

How does a bolt-on breaker like the THQB1120GF secure to the panel?

It mounts directly to the panel bus bar using a screw. This bolted connection provides a secure, vibration-proof contact that is preferred in commercial and industrial applications.

Why is this THQB breaker listed as both ABB and General Electric?

ABB acquired GE Industrial Solutions. As a result, THQB Q-Line circuit breakers may feature either the ABB or General Electric brand name on the label, but they are the exact same component and fully compatible.

How often should I test the ground fault function on this breaker?

It is recommended to test the GFCI function monthly using the integrated test button. Pushing this button simulates a ground fault and should immediately trip the breaker, confirming the safety mechanism is working.
