Product FAQs

7 answers
What panelboards are compatible with the THQB1130GFI?

This breaker is designed specifically for GE A-Series panelboards. Because it utilizes a bolt-on connection, it is not compatible with standard residential load centers that require plug-in breakers.

Is there a difference between the THQB1130GF and THQB1130GFI catalog numbers?

No, they are the exact same product. GE uses the GF and GFI suffixes interchangeably to indicate a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter. Both part numbers refer to this 30A Class A GFCI breaker.

What is the ground fault trip threshold for the THQB1130GFI?

This breaker provides Class A ground fault protection, which means it is calibrated to trip at a 5mA ground fault current. This level of protection is required by the NEC for personnel safety in wet or damp locations.

How is the neutral wired on the THQB1130GFI breaker?

This unit is equipped with a pigtail neutral wire. The pigtail must be connected directly to the panelboard neutral bus to power the internal GFCI circuitry and enable accurate ground fault detection.

Can I install a THQB bolt-on breaker in a THQL plug-in load center?

No. THQB breakers feature a bolt-on mounting style designed for commercial panelboards. They cannot be installed in load centers that are configured for THQL plug-in breakers.

Does this GFCI breaker include a self-test function?

Yes, this breaker features an internal self-test function to ensure the ground fault detection circuitry remains fully operational and compliant with continuous safety standards.

What does the LIG trip function code mean on this breaker?

The LIG designation indicates that the thermal-magnetic trip unit provides Long-Time overload protection, Instantaneous short-circuit protection, and Ground-Fault protection.
