This Ground Fault Equipment Protection (GFEP) breaker has a 30mA trip threshold designed to protect machinery, heat trace cables, and deicing systems. Standard GFCI breakers have a 5mA trip threshold intended for personnel protection. The 30mA rating prevents nuisance tripping on equipment with higher natural leakage currents.
This breaker is designed exclusively for GE A-Series panelboards and GE AQ lighting panels that accept bolt-on Q-Line breakers. It cannot be installed in standard residential load centers that require plug-on connections.
No. The THQB series features a bolt-on connection designed for commercial and industrial panelboards. If your panel requires plug-on breakers, you will need the THQL equivalent instead.
The Long-Time, Instantaneous, and Ground-Fault (LIG) designation means this thermal-magnetic breaker protects against overloads, short circuits, and ground faults of 30mA or greater. It also features an internal common trip mechanism that disconnects both poles simultaneously during a fault.
No. You must use GE THQB breakers in GE A-Series and AQ panels to maintain UL listing and compliance. Breakers from other manufacturers are not listed or classified for use in these specific GE bolt-on panelboards.
This breaker features a pigtail neutral connection. The coiled white pigtail wire must be connected directly to the panelboard neutral bus bar to ensure the ground fault equipment protection circuitry functions correctly.
