This ED frame breaker is designed for use in Siemens P1, P2, and P3 panelboards, as well as Siemens switchboards. It requires the appropriate ED frame mounting hardware or twin mounting kit for your specific panelboard type.
Can the Siemens ED42B045 replace older ITE circuit breakers?
Yes. Siemens acquired ITE, and the current Siemens ED42B045 is a direct, exact replacement for the older ITE ED42B045 circuit breaker. It shares the same physical dimensions, mounting style, and ED frame design.
Is the ED42B045 suitable for reverse feeding applications?
Yes. Because this ED frame breaker features a non-interchangeable trip unit, it is suitable for reverse feed applications where power flows from the load side to the line side, in accordance with UL 489 standards.
What type of wire connections does the ED42B045 support?
This breaker features bolt-on mounting and includes standard lugs that accept 10 AWG to 1/0 AWG copper or aluminum wire. Always torque the lug screws to the manufacturer specifications printed directly on the breaker label during installation.
Does this breaker provide ground fault or arc fault protection?
No. The ED42B045 is a standard thermal-magnetic circuit breaker providing long-time and instantaneous (LI) overcurrent and short-circuit protection. It does not include GFCI or AFCI functionality.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
