This breaker is designed exclusively for Square D NF series panelboards. It bolts directly to the bus and will not fit into QO, Homeline, NQ, or I-Line panelboards.
Can the EGB14020 be used to directly control lighting circuits?
Yes. This 20-amp breaker is both SWD (Switching Duty) and HID (High-Intensity Discharge) rated, meaning it is certified to be used as a regular switch for fluorescent and HID lighting loads.
What is the difference between Square D EDB, EGB, and EJB circuit breakers?
These catalog prefixes designate the short-circuit interrupting capacity of the E-Frame breaker line. EDB is the standard interrupting tier, EGB is the high interrupting tier, and EJB is the extra-high interrupting tier. All three share the same physical dimensions and fit the exact same NF panelboards.
Is this breaker appropriate for 480V systems?
The EGB14020 is a 1-pole breaker rated for 277 VAC maximum. It is commonly used for 277V branch circuits in a 480Y/277V 3-phase, 4-wire system, but a 1-pole breaker cannot be used across phases for straight 480V loads.
Does this E-Frame breaker snap into place or bolt onto the bus?
It features a bolt-on connection. The breaker secures directly to the busbars of an NF panelboard using a mechanical fastener, which provides a highly secure connection for commercial and industrial environments. It is not a plug-on or DIN rail mounted device.

Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
