The EGB24050 is an E-frame bolt-on circuit breaker designed exclusively for use in Square D NF series panelboards. It is not compatible with NQ or I-Line panelboards.
Can I use the EGB24050 to replace an EDB24050?
Yes. The EGB24050 shares the same physical E-frame footprint as the EDB24050 but offers a higher interrupting rating (35kAIC versus 18kAIC at 480Y/277VAC). It is a direct, upgraded replacement for NF panelboards.
What is the difference between Square D EDB, EGB, and EJB circuit breakers?
The difference lies in their maximum interrupting ratings at 480Y/277VAC. EDB breakers are rated at 18kAIC, EGB breakers are rated at 35kAIC, and EJB breakers provide the highest rating at 65kAIC. All three share the same physical dimensions and mount in NF panelboards.
What wire sizes are accepted by the EGB24050 terminals?
The factory-installed standard lugs on the EGB24050 accept 14 AWG to 2/0 AWG copper wire, or 12 AWG to 2/0 AWG aluminum wire.
Does the EGB24050 mount on a standard DIN rail?
No. The EGB24050 is a bolt-on circuit breaker that must be bolted directly to the busbar of a Square D NF panelboard. It does not support DIN rail mounting.
Is the EGB24050 rated for High Intensity Discharge (HID) lighting applications?
Yes, Square D E-frame breakers, including the EGB24050, are UL Listed as HID rated, making them suitable for switching high-intensity discharge lighting loads. They are also HACR rated for heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment.

Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
