This breaker is designed specifically for legacy Square D NEHB panelboards. It uses a bolt-on connection to mount securely into these lighting and appliance branch-circuit panels.
Can I use an EDB breaker to replace the EHB24020 in my NEHB panel?
No. EDB circuit breakers are designed for newer NF series panelboards and will not fit in obsolete NEHB panelboards. You must use a direct EHB replacement breaker like the EHB24020 to fit the existing bus structure and mounting hardware.
What are the wire size requirements for the EHB24020?
The load side lugs on this breaker accept 14 to 8 AWG copper (Cu) wire or 12 to 8 AWG aluminum (Al) wire.
Is the EHB24020 rated for 277V lighting circuits?
Yes, this breaker has a maximum voltage rating of 480Y/277VAC, making it suitable for 277V commercial lighting applications as well as standard 120/240VAC distribution. At 277VAC, it provides an interrupting rating of 14kAIC.
What type of trip unit does the EHB24020 use?
It features a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit with Long-Time (L) and Instantaneous (I) functions. The thermal mechanism responds to sustained overloads, while the magnetic function trips instantly during a short circuit.
Is the Square D EHB series still being manufactured?
No, the EHB series and the corresponding NEHB panelboards have been discontinued by Square D (Schneider Electric). Because they are obsolete, maintaining your existing panel requires sourcing an exact EHB replacement breaker.

Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
