7 answersWhat panelboards are compatible with the EHB24020PL?
This bolt-on breaker is designed exclusively for legacy Square D NEHB panelboards. It will not fit modern NF panelboards, which require EDB, EGB, or EJB series breakers.
How does the Powerlink remote control feature operate?
The PL suffix indicates an internal motorized mechanism for remote switching. It requires a compatible control power supply and Powerlink controller to actuate the motor, allowing automated control of lighting or branch circuits.
Does this breaker require an external contactor for lighting automation?
No. The integrated Powerlink motor allows direct remote switching of the branch circuit load, eliminating the need for separate lighting contactors in the enclosure.
What is the modern replacement for the EHB24020PL?
The EHB series is obsolete. For newer Powerlink G3 systems installed in NF panelboards, the ECB24020G3 is the standard replacement. However, ECB breakers will not fit legacy NEHB panelboards, so existing NEHB systems require an exact EHB replacement.
Can the breaker be operated manually if the automated control system fails?
Yes. The breaker features a standard toggle handle that allows manual override for maintenance, lockout procedures, or during a control power failure. It also includes a Visi-Trip indicator to clearly identify a tripped condition.
Is this breaker rated for direct switching of lighting loads?
Yes. Powerlink breakers are specifically engineered for commercial lighting automation and carry SWD (Switching Duty) ratings for direct control of fluorescent and similar lighting circuits.
Can this 480Y/277V slash-rated breaker be used on a 480V ungrounded delta system?
No. Slash-rated circuit breakers are only approved for use in solidly grounded wye systems where the line-to-ground voltage does not exceed the lower voltage rating (277V). They cannot be used on ungrounded, corner-grounded, or impedance-grounded delta systems.

Expedited Shipments
