Yes. The PowerPacT H-frame series, including the HJL36090, is the designated replacement for legacy 90-amp F-frame breakers such as the FAL36090, FHL36090, and FCL36090. Note that physical dimensions and mounting may differ, so panel modifications or new mounting hardware might be required.
What does the "J" in the HJL36090 part number indicate?
The "J" designates the interrupting capacity rating of the breaker. For PowerPacT H-frame breakers, the J-rating provides 100kAIC at 240VAC, 65kAIC at 480VAC, and 25kAIC at 600VAC.
What does "Unit Mount" mean for the HJL36090?
Unit mount indicates that this breaker is designed to be surface-mounted to a backpan or enclosure using screws, rather than plugging directly onto a busbar. The "L" in the HJL prefix signifies that it comes with mechanical lugs on both the line and load sides for feed-thru wire connections.
Can I install the HJL36090 in a Square D I-Line panelboard?
No. The HJL36090 is a unit-mount breaker with lugs on both ends and cannot plug into an I-Line bus. For an I-Line panelboard, you need an I-Line version of this breaker, such as the HJA36090.
What lug kit comes standard on the HJL36090, and what wire sizes does it accept?
The HJL36090 comes standard with the AL150HD lug kit on both the line and load sides. These lugs accept one 14 to 3/0 AWG aluminum or copper wire per terminal.
What type of trip unit is installed in the HJL36090?
This breaker features a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit. It provides non-adjustable long-time (thermal) protection for overloads and instantaneous (magnetic) protection for short circuits.
Does the HJL36090 have a push-to-trip feature for testing?

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
