7 answersWhat type of panelboard is the QDA32080 compatible with?
This breaker features an I-Line plug-on connection and is designed exclusively for use in Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards. It cannot be used in NQ or NF series panels.
How does the QDA32080 connect to the panel and the load?
It uses an I-Line plug-on connection for the line side to snap directly into the panelboard bus. The load side features mechanical lugs that accept 4 AWG to 300 kcmil aluminum or copper wire.
Is the QDA32080 rated for use in DC circuits?
No, the PowerPacT Q-frame QDA32080 is rated for AC voltage only (up to 240V AC). It does not carry a DC voltage rating.
What is the difference between the QDA32080, QGA32080, and QJA32080?
The difference is the interrupting capacity. The QDA32080 is rated for 25kA at 240V AC, the QGA32080 is rated for 65kA, and the QJA32080 is rated for 100kA. They share the same physical dimensions and I-Line mounting.
Can I use the QDA32080 to replace an older Q23080 breaker?
Yes, the PowerPacT QDA32080 is the direct replacement for the legacy Square D Q23080 I-Line circuit breaker.
Are the trip settings on the QDA32080 adjustable?
No, this breaker features a thermal-magnetic trip unit with fixed long-time and fixed instantaneous (LI) trip functions. The trip points cannot be adjusted in the field.
What wire material is compatible with the load lugs on this breaker?
The standard load-side lugs on the QDA32080 are dual-rated to accept either copper or aluminum conductors ranging from 4 AWG to 300 kcmil.
