7 answersCan I install the QO225 in a Square D Homeline panel?
No. The QO225 is a QO format breaker and is strictly designed for QO load centers, NQ panelboards, NQOD panelboards, and Speed-D switchboards. It will not physically attach to the busbar of a Homeline load center.
Will the QO225 fit in a bolt-on panelboard?
No. The QO225 utilizes a plug-on mounting design. If your NQ or NQOD panelboard specifically requires bolt-on connections, you must source the equivalent QOB series breaker, catalog number QOB225.
Does the QO225 feature a visual tripped indicator?
Yes. It includes the Square D Visi-Trip indicator. When the breaker trips due to an overload or short circuit, a highly visible red flag appears in the indicator window, allowing you to rapidly identify the tripped circuit in a crowded panel.
Is this circuit breaker approved for HVAC motor loads?
Yes. The QO225 is HACR rated. It is certified to safely handle the momentary inrush currents generated by heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment compressors and motors.
Can the QO225 be used in DC voltage applications?
Yes. In addition to its AC capabilities, this breaker is rated for 48VDC systems with a 5kA interrupting capacity. This makes it suitable for specific low-voltage direct current control panels or battery applications.
Does the QO225 provide arc fault or ground fault protection?
No. This is a standard thermal-magnetic breaker providing traditional overload and short-circuit protection only. It does not include Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (AFCI) or Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) circuitry.
Is it safe to replace a nuisance tripping 20A QO breaker with a QO225?
Only if the existing circuit conductors and connected equipment are rated for a 25-amp continuous load. Installing a 25A breaker on wiring sized for 20A (such as 12 AWG copper) violates National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements and creates a severe fire risk.

Expedited Shipments
