Yes. Eaton acquired the Cutler-Hammer and Westinghouse distribution equipment lines, so this Series C F-frame breaker is backward compatible with many older Westinghouse and Cutler-Hammer panelboards, switchboards, and enclosures designed for F-frame bolt-on breakers.
What are the recommended terminal torque values for the FS320025A?
For standard slotted head lugs, the torque specifications depend on the wire gauge: 35 lb-in for 14-10 AWG, 40 lb-in for 8 AWG, 45 lb-in for 6-4 AWG, and 50 lb-in for 3-1/0 AWG. Always verify against the breaker's side label before finalizing connections.
Does the FS320025A accept aluminum wiring?
Yes, the factory-installed lugs are rated for both copper (Cu) and aluminum (Al) conductors ranging from 14 AWG to 1/0 AWG. When terminating aluminum wire, Eaton recommends applying a suitable joint compound to reduce the risk of terminal overheating.
What is the current replacement for the legacy FS320025A breaker?
The FS frame is a legacy 240V-rated Series C breaker. For newer installations or if the FS320025A is unavailable, Eaton replaces it with the FD3025. The FD frame shares the exact same physical dimensions and mounting but carries a higher 600V maximum rating.
