This bolt-on Q-Line breaker is designed specifically for GE A-Series panelboards and GE AQ lighting panels. It will not fit in standard residential load centers that require plug-in THQL breakers.
The ST1 suffix indicates the breaker is equipped with a factory-installed 120V AC shunt trip. This allows the breaker to be opened remotely via an external control signal for emergency shutdowns or automated safety systems.
It features a bolt-on connection, meaning it fastens directly to the panelboard bus bar with screws. This provides a rigid, vibration-resistant mechanical connection suitable for commercial and industrial environments.
The load side terminals accept 14 AWG to 8 AWG copper conductors, or 12 AWG to 8 AWG aluminum conductors.
The internal shunt trip mechanism requires a 120V AC external voltage signal to actuate. When the signal is applied, it mechanically trips the breaker to open the circuit, providing a reliable method for remote power disconnection.
ABB acquired GE Industrial Solutions in 2018. Depending on the manufacturing date, the breaker may carry either the GE or ABB logo, but the THQB2125ST1 catalog number, form factor, and UL listings remain exactly the same.
It uses a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit with Long-Time and Instantaneous (LI) functions. The thermal element responds to sustained overloads, while the magnetic element reacts immediately to short circuits.
It shares the same 25A rating, 2-pole configuration, and bolt-on mounting as the standard THQB2125, but includes a 120V shunt trip. It is typically used only when remote tripping capabilities are required by the system design.
