The BRH220 is designed for use in Eaton Type BR load centers. Because Eaton acquired Westinghouse, Bryant, and Challenger, this breaker is also the official UL-listed replacement for many legacy 1-inch plug-on panels from those brands. Always verify your panel label for Type BR compatibility.
What is the difference between the Eaton BR220 and the BRH220?
The primary difference is the interrupting rating. The standard BR220 has a 10kAIC rating, while the BRH220 is a high-interrupting breaker rated for 22kAIC. You must use the BRH220 if your electrical system's available fault current exceeds 10,000 amps.
What type of wire material can be used with the BRH220?
The box lug terminals on the BRH220 are rated for both copper (Cu) and aluminum (Al) conductors. The accepted wire size range is 14 to 4 AWG.
Can the Eaton BRH220 replace older Bryant or Westinghouse breakers?
Yes. Eaton manufactures the BR line as the direct, UL-listed replacement for obsolete Bryant, Westinghouse, and Challenger breakers of the same frame size. The BRH220 directly replaces the legacy Bryant BRH220 and Westinghouse BRH220.
Is it safe to install a 22kAIC breaker in a panel that originally used 10kAIC breakers?
Yes, installing a breaker with a higher interrupting rating like 22kAIC than the original is generally safe and often required if the utility has upgraded transformers, increasing the available fault current. However, you cannot use a 10kAIC breaker where 22kAIC is required.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
